Three Ways to Think and Work Differently
This week I’ve been thinking about how to test ideas, how to find your own voice, and how to tell the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
3 Thoughts From Me
I.
Thinking like a scientist means treating your ideas as experiments. You don’t have to be right. You only need to be curious, adjust, and try again.
II.
Standing out from the crowd is rarely about doing something louder. It is usually about being consistent in what you care about, long after the trend has passed.
III.
Wisdom is not the same as knowledge. Knowledge collects. Wisdom filters, simplifies, and makes space for what is useful.
2 Quotes From Others
I.
On curiosity and learning
“The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I realise how little I know.”
(Interview, 1983)
This reminds me that knowledge is endless, but humility makes space for growth. Each new step is not about mastery, but about staying open.
II.
On originality
“Genius is nothing more nor less than childhood recaptured at will.”
(Essay, 1863)
This reminds me that standing out often means returning to a simpler way of seeing. Playfulness and honesty tend to reveal what is most distinct.
1 Question For You
What is one belief or assumption you could test this week, instead of taking it for granted?
With thanks,
David

P.S. A little less waiting and a little more doing tends to move things forward.
