On Flexibility, Fairness, and Forward Motion
Sometimes the hardest part is seeing clearly.
What you want. What you’ve learned. What you’re not quite ready to change.
This week is about those moments.

3 Thoughts From Me
I.
On getting what you deserve
Deserve is a tricky word.
It can make you feel entitled or ashamed.
Work with what’s true, not what you think should be.
That’s where progress starts.
II.
On the power of flexibility
Rigidity often comes from fear.
When you're flexible, you can adjust without losing yourself.
It’s not weakness. It’s resilience with awareness.
Strong design does this too.
III.
On how good decisions are made
Good decisions don’t come from waiting until you’re certain.
They come from knowing what matters, then moving.
Clarity often shows up after the choice, not before.
2 Quotes From Others
I.
On fairness
“Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.”
(Play, 1892)
This keeps me from expecting the world to behave like a balance sheet.
II.
On creative control
“Flexibility requires confidence. Insecurity is what keeps us rigid.”
(Book, 2003)
Helpful when I catch myself clinging to plans that don’t fit anymore.
1 Question For You
Where are you being rigid when you could be curious?
With thanks,
David

P.S. You don’t have to earn clarity. You just need to make enough space to notice it.
