Why Action and Simplicity Are Keys to Better Design Results

3 Thoughts From Me

I.
“If you want to take something more seriously, do it publicly. Publishing an article forces clarity in your thoughts. Competing in a race drives consistency in training. Presenting on a topic requires a deep understanding. When we invite social pressure, it pushes us to elevate our game.” In design, sharing your work or committing to a public goal can be the catalyst for growth. When others are watching, we feel the urge to create our best. Take a step forward—share your vision, seek feedback, and watch your skills develop.
II.
“Your choices create leverage. Your habits unleash it. A good initial choice—like working on the right project or collaborating with the right person—can yield a 100x return. But without strong habits, even the best choices remain untapped potential. The real power comes when you align great choices with consistent habits.” In design, a wise decision can set the stage, but it’s the routine actions that bring it to life. Start with intention, and then build the habits to make that vision a reality.
III.
“Most failures are one-time costs. Most regrets are recurring costs. The pain of inaction lingers far longer than the discomfort of making a mistake.” In design, as in life, bold choices sometimes lead to missteps, but hesitation often costs us more in the long run. Embrace action, take risks, and remember: even a wrong step moves you forward, while standing still keeps you stuck.

1 Question For You

“What is the biggest opportunity I could pursue in the next 5 minutes?” Sometimes, we overthink our next steps, waiting for the “perfect” time or idea. But opportunities often come from small, immediate actions. Consider what single choice could propel you forward right now, whether in design, habit-building, or personal growth.
